Two Arrested After Home Burns

Two people are under arrest after a home burned in Beaufort County last month.

Deputies have charged James Depner, Jr. with fraudulently burning a dwelling and two counts of insurance fraud while Melissa Cahoon is charged with accessory after a felony and insurance fraud.

The fire happened at a home on Mary's Chapel Church Road in Aurora back on January 16th. Firefighters reported that the fire appeared suspicious so the SBI Arson Unit was called in to help investigate.

Both Depner and Cahoon were released after posting bail.
