Police: Missing Belhaven Teens Found

Belhaven Police tell WITN that the two Belhaven teens missing since Monday January 4th, have been found.

Police say they are still investigating the disappearance but believe the teens were in Chocowinity.

On January 8th, police spoke with the legal guardians of Gregoria Alcantar and Renita Chase.

As of Sunday afternoon, the teens had asked their guardians if they could stay with Chase's aunt Constance.

Police say that request was granted.

Belhaven police say they continue to search for two missing teens who haven't been seen since Monday. One of the 16-year-olds has a heart condition and doesn't have her medicine.

Gregoria Alcantar is Hispanic with brown eyes and black hair. She's 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 105 pounds. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and boots with hearts. She was also wearing a gold chain necklace.

Renita Chase is African American. She's 4 foot 11 inches tall and weighs around 125 pounds. She was last seen wearing brown pants and red an white shoes. She was also wearing a black coat the last time she was seen. Chase has a heart condition that requires medication, which she does not have with her.

Anyone who has seen the two girls is urged to call Belhaven police at 252-943-2242.

    I too think that the should have a punishment the aunt is saying they are being punished,but how? I hope not by her keeping her promise and taking them with her for a weekend. They just going to do it again and again because the family treated the situation like it wasnt a big deal. I don't think anybody is talking bad about these girls the just are stating their opinions and alot of them are right.So all I really want to say is when they run away again don't dont get all worried and upset because you gave them permission to do it again.....

    YES they were with auntie when they were finally found.They were only with AUNTIE because of a promise. If you make a promise if you are real you should keep your promise. It is all about trust,they had trust in me. And you right it was much freedom.(much)
