Suspect Arrested In Washington Shooting

A suspect is behind bars stemming from a November shooting in Washington

Washington Police say 28 year-old Omar Deshan Blount of East 7th Street in Washington was taken into custody by the Pitt County Sheriff's Office during a traffic stop on December 10th.

Blount was served outstanding warrants from Washington Police for attempted first degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and three counts of failure to appear.

The shooting happened near the intersection of 7th and Respess Street.

Two people were treated for non-life threatening injuries to their legs.

    Yeah, I guess it is more acceptable to beat someone to death with your hands than shoot them with a gun......What difference does "solving it with your hands" make?

    He deserves to be put away!!! Long gone are the days of people just using their hands to solve issues. Guns thugs = Trouble
