FIRST ON WITN: Two Killed In Highway 33 Accident

Two people were killed in an accident Thursday morning in Beaufort County.

It happened around 9:50 a.m. on Highway 33, west of Aurora.

State troopers say a car pulled out from Bonnerton Road and failed to yield. A dump truck struck the car, killing both people inside.

Dead is 77-year-old Daniel Williams, who was driving the car, and passenger 61-year-old Geannie Moore. Both were from the Edwards/Blounts Creek area. The dump truck driver was not injured.

Troopers tell WITN News that it's possible the sun may have impaired the car driver's vision. They plan to come back out Friday and recreate the accident scene.

The highway was shut down for several hours as emergency crews cleared the accident scene.

This is the 13th fatal accident in Beaufort County this year, 6 of those happened on Highway 33.

Cody, I cannot imagine how your dad feels, but I hope he gets some professional help. I feel sure your dad did not wake up that morning and plan on the tragic event that took place. Survivors guilt can physically, and emotionaly eat him alive. Get your dad the help he will need.I wish all families involved the very best. This to will pass, and god bless all.

My heart goes out to all effected by this tradegy the ones who lost a loved one and the one's who will have to wake each day with a memory of two people in his head that had died before his very eyes. May God bless you all pray harder than you ever prayed before so that the images in your head will be a little easier to deal with. My heart really goes out to all!
