A local soccer group is forming a team for the spring.

The Washington Riptides are forming a U-14 Boys Challenge soccer team for the Spring 2010 season.
Tryouts will be held at 2:00 on Sunday, December 6, at the Minuteman Lane fields near the National Guard Armory in Washington.
Interested players who were 12 or 13 years old on July 31, 2009, are encouraged to attend the tryouts. Players should bring a soccer ball and wear appropriate footwear, socks and shin guards.
The Riptides are affiliated with the New Bern Area Soccer Association and play in the Down East Soccer Club against teams from eastern North Carolina. The spring season will begin in early February and conclude in early April. Home games and practices are held in Washington.
