High School Activity Bus And Car Crash In Pitt County

A high school activity bus and car crashed Saturday morning in Pitt County.

It happened before 11:00 a.m. on Mills Road off of Highway 43.

The bus was carrying members of the Washington High School volleyball team home from a game at South Central.

No one on the bus was hurt.

Bystanders on the scene say the person in the car was injured and the car sustained major damage.

We're told the bus is not drivable because the fender is pushed into the tire.

Washington High School is in Beaufort County, so only Beaufort County school officials and the Highway patrol needed direct notification.

why would it matter to call the director of Pitt County schools, since the bus was from Beaufort County?

Someone should have called Joey Weathington. He is the director of Pitt County schools.

OMG! They are in the playoffs and I was afraid it was my child's bus. Glad it wasn't. Hope the driver of the car is okay.
