FIRST ON WITN: Man Charged With Drug Possession Near High School

A man is in jail after deputies say they found crack cocaine at his home, which is not far from a high school.

Jeffrey Bush is charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine within 1000 feet of a school, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Beaufort County deputies say they got a search warrant for Bush's home on Slatestone Drive. The home is about two-tenths of a mile from Washington High School. There deputies say they found a small quantity of crack, digital scales and plastic bags used to repackage drugs.

Bush is in jail on a $25,000 secured bond.

"I want to see when they going to catch" /// "There is to (not too) many murder suspects out there" I would negate the opinions of people who can not speak proper English!

I agree with I DON'T CARE, police need to catch murder suspects instead of drug dealers, there is to many murder suspects out there.

I WANT TO SEE WHEN THEY GOING TO CATCH THE 3 MURDER SUSPECTS.I'M TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT THESES DRUG DEALERS.WELL,TO THIS CASE..He was charge with having possession of drugs 1,000 ft from a school. That doesn't mean that he live by the school,it just mean that when he apprehend he was a 1,000 ft from a school zone..He do,I might add, stay close to Washington High School but its more than a 1,000 ft away..he just got out of prison. You would think that theses drug dealer, would stop doing what they doing.WORD OF ADVICE..IF YOU GETTING CAUGHT THEN YOU NOT GOOD AT WHAT YOU DOING..It's illegal to have drugs, period but to have it close to a school..Thats a double no no..For example, say if you drove up to a school to get your child and a drug dealer on the corner trying to get your child to buy drugs...You wouldn't want that..No one would. That's why its illegal..

Hey now, someone needs to tell the Beaufort County Sheriff Department to start spending less officers catching drug dealers round Washington and start catching them around Chocowinity way and down Aurora way where they roam free and there is more killings there. I do know they have a police department in Washington already so I guess taxes go to pay for Washington to have 2 police forces.

So it was supposed to be ok for him to have drugs in the house. Anyway that was a school zone area. He just like anybody else who got caught. You do the crime you suffer the consquences.

It might make a difference as to whether he was selling drugs from home or at the school.... in other words, more of BCSDept making a big case out of nothing.

Does it matter if he was already living there? I doubt the cocaine had been there since before the school was built.

To me: What does that matter? The school has been there a long time. The fact of the matter he was close to the school selling coke.
