Man Drives SUV Through Front Of Pharmacy

A man says he was picking up his morning newspaper when he made a costly mistake.

Wade Waters tells WITN he drove his SUV through one of the plate glass windows at the front of Tayloe's Hospital Pharmacy. It's located at 601 E. 12th St. in Washington, across from the Beaufort County Hospital.

Waters said he had just picked up his morning newspaper just before 6:30 a.m. Waters said his feet somehow got tangled, and he hit the gas. His vehicle drove through the front of the pharmacy, completely shattering one of the plate glass windows. Two-thirds of the Ford Explorer went into the pharmacy. The business was not open at the time.

No one, including Waters, was hurt. Waters told WITN he was embarrassed.

Washington Police confirmed the incident was just an accident.

This happens a lot, I know he feels bad, I know I did. Glad he is okay and no one was injured. Cool out people, strange things do happen, it is just a question of when it will happen to you.

Hi, Anonymous: It was 6:30 on a Friday morning. School kids all over the State are either wating at bus stops or heading to them. I know this because I see them. Others are on their way to work. Mr. Waters could have taken out one of them instead of a plate glass window. Why don't you try thinking before you post?

Dont't you people realize that is was the SUV's fault, if he'd been drivin' one of those little hybrid car dealies that everybody thinks is so cool he would have just scratched the fender or something. Mean SUV, bad, go back to your room, no dinner!!!!! Buzz-

Don't suppose the Police thought to do a sobriety test? I'm not laughing with him, I'm just glad he didn't kill someone's child.

Some people are so mean. It does happen no matter what age or size of shoe. In fact, its happened to me twice but only one caused an accident. Stupid platform sandals. Wade: Thanks for the laugh. Remember, we are laughing WITH you not AT you :)

Alligood - The Washington Police confirmed it was an accident. What does age have to do with it. Young or Old. I am sure he has car insurance.
