Two Riptides Boys Team Dodge Rain Outs And Win Games

The U-10 Riptides Boys traveled to Kinston on Saturday and picked up their first win by a score of 3-1 over the U-10 Hurricanes.

Scoring for Washington were Jesse Lohman, Patrick Miller, and Fabian Palacios. Wyatt Shackelford played an outstanding defensive game to help secure the victory. The U-10 Riptides have three rain out games to make up to complete their season.

The U-12 Riptides Boys maintained a share of first place in the Old North Division of the Down East Soccer Club with a 7-2 victory over the Kinston Hurricanes on Saturday.

Lupe Barrera scored three goals. Neill Jennings, Weston Brown, William Tate, and Eric Crozier also scored. Strong defensive performances were turned in by Josh Robertson and goal keepers Neill Jennings and Carter O’Neal.

The U-12 Boys will travel to Greenville on Sunday for a showdown with the PGSA Stars that will likely determine first place for the spring season.
