The 14th Annual Wildlife Arts Festival and Decoy Carving Contest is this weekend in the Beaufort County city of Washington.
The event is at the Civic Center, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
What will you see at the event? Decoy carving competitions, calling competitions, artisans and retriever demonstrations. Organizers say nearly 500 original carvings are submitted for 15 different competition divisions.
Around 100 wildlife art exhibitors are expected.
The Washington tourism website reports attendees can also see the unveiling of the original 2009 North Carolina Duck Stamp, and winners of the 2009 North Carolina Junior Duck Stamp Competition will be unveiled and displayed throughout the Festival.
