The snow flurries in Beaufort County came and went, but not without controversy. Some concerned parents called our newsroom, upset about the school board's decision to allow buses on the road during the snow storm.
But according to the Highway Patrol, there was little to be concerned about. Wednesday morning, the snow did not have a chance to stick. But parents called Beaufort County Schools and complained. Board members say they monitored the situation, through the National Weather Service, local media, the D.O.T and Highway Patrol and decided the roads were safe for drivers to pick up students, without delaying classes.
Hodges says they received no reports of incidents on any of their buses during the snowfall, Wednesday morning.
