Temple tops ECU 90-73

RESULT
Temple led wire-to-wire and earned its fourth straight victory with a 90-73 win over ECU Wednesday night at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia.

TURNING POINT
Temple used a 16-4 run, including a string of 12 unanswered points to take a 69-54 lead with 10:39 to play. Quinton Rose scored nine points during the surge, capped by a 3-pointer.

ECU PLAYER-OF-THE-GAME
Kentrell Barkley posted his first 20-point game of the season, finishing with a team-high 20 points, and grabbed nine rebounds. He also tied his career-high with four made 3-pointers. Barkley was 7-of-14 from the field and 4-of-8 outside the 3-point arc.

TEMPLE PLAYER-OF-THE-GAME
Rose led all scorers with 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting, including 3-of-5 outside the arc. Rose also grabbed six rebounds and dished out three assists in 33 minutes of action.

KEY PERFORMERS
Isaac Fleming had 17 points on 8-of-17 shooting, grabbed nine rebounds and distributed four assists. Freshman Shawn Williams had 13 points and B.J. Tyson added 12 points.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Temple shot 45.6 percent from the field and ECU shot 44.8 percent … Both teams made eight 3-pointers and grabbed 40 rebounds … The Owls were 20-of-26 from the free throw line, while ECU was 5-of-8 …Temple committed just five turnovers and forced 10 Pirate miscues … Temple scored 15 points off turnovers.
