WINTERVILLE, NC -- South Central quarterback Caleb Woodley is our WITN Pepsi Player of the Week.
Earlier this year, Caleb contracted a rare virus called Viral Encephalitis and he spent nine weeks in the ICU, including five weeks in a coma.
Caleb lost nearly 60 pounds of weight and had to re-learn how to walk, but he still had his mind set on playing football again. After going through rehab and fall camp, Caleb was named the back-up quarterback for the Falcons football team.
Before their September 8 game against North Pitt, the starting quarterback got hurt and Caleb was thrust into the spotlight as the new starter. In his first varsity start, he threw for nearly 300 yards and four touchdowns.
