GREENVILLE, N.C. – Senior outfielder Kacie Oshiro has been tabbed the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week, according to an announcement by the league Monday.
It is the second such weekly honor for the program in 2017 and the first in Oshiro’s career.
Oshiro went 6-for-10 at the plate in four appearances last week with four runs scored, three walks, a double, a home run, a .692 on base mark and 1.000 slugging percentage. She also extended her streak of games reaching base safely to 13 games.
Oshiro racked up two hits, two runs scored and a RBI in the 4-0 series-opening victory over UConn before tallying three hits and a run scored in the 4-1 win over the Huskies that clinched the series. She then scored a run and drew a pair of walks in the 2-1 triumph in the finale of the set that secured the Pirates' first-ever series sweep of an American Athletic Conference opponent.
East Carolina returns to action Wednesday, traveling to Longwood University for a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch for game one at Lancer Field is scheduled for 5 p.m. EDT.
