CRAVEN COUNTY, NC (WITN) - A Craven County woman will be kept in jail without bond after being charged with killing her husband and making her getaway on a 4-wheeler.
Stephanie Frazier made a court appearance this morning at the Craven County Courthouse. The woman was in the courtroom for less than three minutes.
The 45-year-old Frazier is accused of shooting her husband, Marvin Frazier, outside a friend's home on Godette School Road near Harlowe. The shooting happened around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.
The woman was captured several hours later on a trail near a junkyard.
The judge gave her a court-appointed lawyer and set October 6th as her next court date.
Relatives say the wife followed her 55-year-old husband to the home and shot him.
A woman accused of killing her husband is expected to make her first court appearance Thursday morning.
The shooting happened around 12:45 p.m. at a home on Godette School Road outside of Havelock. Craven County deputies say it was a domestic shooting.
A sheriff's office spokesman says they captured Stephanie Frazier shortly before 4:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Family members say Marvin Frazier was shot in the heart. The victim's body was lying on the ground next to a car parked at a friend's house. Another relative says the wife followed her husband to the home and shot him.
Deputies say Stephanie Frazier took off on a purple 4-wheeler. They had roadblocks set up in the area looking for her this afternoon.
Relatives say they do not know what happened to lead up to the shooting. They say the couple lives about four miles away.
