NEW INFO: WITN hosts "Pint for a Pint" blood drive

GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) - Organizers say they held a successful blood drive on Tuesday outside the WITN studios.

The America Red Cross says their goal was met with 22 pints of blood collected between 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Those that came to our studios to donate received a free pint of ice cream from Simply Natural Creamery.

One pint of blood can save up to three lives. Five million patients across the U.S. need blood each year, including many in Eastern Carolina.
