Volunteers wanted for 'Rise Against Hunger' meal packing event

WINTERVILLE, NC (WITN) - Volunteers are needed for a meal-packing event in the east called "Rise Against Hunger."

Formerly known as "Stop Hunger Now", "Rise Against Hunger" is an international hunger relief organization that brings together community volunteers at locations around the country to package and ship meals for people in need.

Peace Presbyterian Church is organizing the event for Monday, January 15th from 11am-1pm and then from 2-4pm. Organizers hope to pack 30,000 meals for people who have been victims of disaster in Puerto Rico, Haiti and Nicaragua.

The church is located in on Guiness Dr. in Winterville, across from Plant and See Nursery.
