NASH COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A traffic stop led officers to a much bigger discovery this weekend.
Jaquan McLean, 20, and Areona Middleton, 20, have been charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance.
Nash County deputies say they pulled the two over on Saturday night on U.S. 64 bypass for a traffic violation.
When deputies approached the car, they say they detected a strong odor of marijuana. When investigators searched the vehicle, they found 200 grams of powdered cocaine.
Both were jailed on $75,000 bonds.
