WILLIAMSTON, NC (WITN) - WITN's Teacher of the Week for November 22 is Jenna Hardison of Williamston Primary in Martin County.
Jenna Hardison teaches second grade at Williamston Primary. She began her teaching career there in 2009. The Martin County native attended Jamesville Elementary and Jamesville High School before getting her undergraduate and Masters degrees at East Carolina University.
Hardison writes: “The decision to teach was an easy one. It’s what I truly believe I was meant to do. I’ve been blessed to work with so many wonderful people in various positions that have shown me not only how to be a better teacher but also a better person.
Hardison lives in Jamesville with her husband, Phillip, and two sons, Levi and Jace.
The person who nominated Mrs. Hardison wrote: “She goes above and beyond for her students. She takes her time with them and makes sure each and every one of her students get the best out of their education in her class. My daughter suffers from ADHD and ADD, and she has had a rough couple of years in school, until she got to Mrs. Hardison’s class. Now she is understanding her work, and she is grasping the whole thing with her reading. If it wasn't for Mrs. Hardison, my daughter would still be struggling with her work. She looks forward to getting up and going to school every morning. She tells me all the time, ‘Mommy, I love school, and I love my teacher because she really helps me and she loves us.’”
Congratulations to Jenna Hardison!
Every week during the school year WITN will recognize a Teacher of the Week on WITN News at Sunrise. The winner receives a plaque and $100 Walmart gift card. To nominate your teacher, email TOTW@witn.com.
