State superintendent speaks to hundreds of educators in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Hundreds of teachers from across the state and country gathered in the east to prepare for the upcoming school year.

The North Carolina superintendent of public instruction Mark Johnson visited Northside High School in Jacksonville Tuesday morning to speak to almost 900 educators from across the state and country in a program called World View.

The program aims to emphasize global learning and various career paths for students that require and don't require a degree in order to fill all areas of the workforce.
