Sport Sawyer stepping down at Washington High School

Pam Pack head football coach Sport Sawyer is stepping down just two years after leading Washington to a birth in the 2AA state title game.

In a text to WITN sports director Billy Weaver, coach Sawyer stated "I think it's time for change for Washington football and myself. I have been here 20 years, definitely one of the hardest things I have ever done."

Sawyer's Pam Pack opened the 2016 season with six consecutive losses before rebounding to winning three of their final five games but the Pack failed to earn a trip to the playoffs.

Sport Sawyer also stated he wants to continue coaching somewhere in the future.
