Six local high school students awarded full scholarships to ECU

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Six standout high school students from the east have been awarded full academic scholarships to East Carolina University.

The Merit Scholarship recognizes outstanding academic performance, commitment to community engagement and strong leadership skills.

These six students from Pitt County have been admitted to ECU's Honors College and each has received a four-year scholarship, a value of approximately $62,000.

ECU officials say EC Scholars is the university's most prestigious and competitive undergraduate academic scholarship program.
