RALEIGH, NC (AP) - Catholics in eastern North Carolina are expected to celebrate the region's new center of religious life at the newly completed cathedral in Raleigh.
The Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral will hold a dedication Mass Wednesday and expects 2,000 worshipers to attend the service. The cathedral will also live stream the Mass on the diocese's YouTube channel.
Stone masons installed the cornerstone on Friday. Behind the stone, workers installed a time capsule including objects marking the recent life of the diocese of about a quarter-million members.
