Salvation Army holds mobile food drive in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, NC (WITN) Eating healthy and fresh produce is a privilege that's often taken for granted, and because of that, a group of community members came together to hold a mobile food drive.

The Salvation Army partnered with Living Hope Community Church in Jacksonville to host the drive.

Food is provided by the Food Bank of Central and Eastern Carolina.

Around a hundred boxes were filled with fresh produce, one meat and dairy item, and bottled drinks.

Cars could line up as early as 10:00 a.m. and were given one box per household, with a valid ID.

The mobile food drive is held on the second Tuesday of each month.
