Roper man wins $1 million lottery prize

WASHINGTON COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A Washington County man has won a million dollar lottery prize.

Danielle Cox bought a $30 stratch-off ticket for the Extreme Millions game at the Piggly Wiggly in Plymouth.

The roper man claimed the prize today at lottery headquarters in Raleigh.

Cox had to choose between taking 20 annual payments of $50,000 or a lump sum of $600,000. He took the lump sum and walked out with a check for $423,015 after taxes were withheld.

Two $10 million prizes and eight $1 million prizes remain in the Extreme Millions game.
