DUPLIN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Fire officials say six people are displaced after a house fire in Duplin County on Sunday morning.
Firefighters from Faison Fire and Rescue, the Warsaw Fire Department and the Calypso Volunteer Fire Department responded along with Duplin County EMS to a structure fire on Highway 403 just after 11:30 a.m.
Smoke was showing upon arrival but officials say the blaze was contained to one room. Extensive salvage was required and firefighters say the home will most likely be a total loss.
Nobody was injured but the Red Cross is assisting the displaced family.
Fire officials say the cause of the fire was electrical in nature. Crews remained on scene until 2:00 p.m.
The Duplin County Sheriff's Department, the Duplin County Fire Marshal's Office and Duplin County Communications also responded.
