NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) - New Bern Police now say a man facing charges for two armed robberies is also behind six other robberies, or attempted robberies, in the New Bern area.
New Bern Police have charged 32-year-old Kishon Toms with five more charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one charge of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.
He is also facing a second degree kidnapping charge for one of the robberies.
Police say the robberies happened at New Bern businesses, such as Walgreens, Super Stop and Five Points Food Mart, between December 14th and January 10th.
Toms has been given an additional $500,000 bond.

Earlier Tuesday, members of the police department's special response team surrounded the Palace Motel on MLK, Jr. Boulevard after they received information that he was staying there, but did not find Toms.
They say they found him later on, around 7:35 p.m., walking in the 1400 block of Neuse Blvd. Officers say he was arrested without incident.
Toms has been placed in the Craven County Jail with no bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday.
