Police say aggressive driving led to man being shot

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Police say aggressive driving turned into a man being shot Sunday night in Jacksonville.

Officers say Kenyatta Almalik was driving on Huff Drive around 9:30 p.m. when a silver four-door car, possibly a Toyota, began tailgating him.

The man slowed his vehicle down, and police say when the vehicle started to pass, Almalik sped back up.

The vehicle tried to pass a second time, and police say that's when the driver began firing at Almalik.

The man and is vehicle were hit by gunfire several times, according to police.

Almalik was taken to Onslow Memorial Hospital where he is in fair condition with non-life threatening injuries.
