Police: Three men rob Greenville home, assault resident

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Police say drugs prompted a home invasion in Eastern Carolina that resulted in a person being attacked.

Greenville police say the robbery happened around 8:50 p.m. Tuesday at the 1100 block of Evans Street and they do not believe this was a random crime.

We're told three men forced their way into the home and hit the person in the head.

That person was not seriously injured.

Police say the men left the scene with cash and drugs and took off in a white four door vehicle.
