Pecheles Toyota donates $40,000 to Boys & Girls Club of the Coastal Plain

WASHINGTON, N.C. (WITN) - A local car dealership is donating tens of thousands of dollars to an Eastern Carolina nonprofit benefiting kids.

Pecheles Toyota announced they teamed up with Toyota Motor Corporation to donate $40,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain.

Over the past six years, they have donated $215,000 in total.

The club says these donations have helped them be able to serve more kids in Eastern Carolina and to make a greater impact on them.

For instance, in 2017, they served more than 3,600 kids and teens in seven counties.

Also last year, they served 135,000 meals and healthy snacks.

The club says they have a 100% graduation rate for high school seniors.

Pecheles Toyota says their donation will serve three priority outcomes: Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles.

"Pecheles Toyota continues to partner proudly with Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain because we truly believe what the leadership of their organization believes: that in order to create a better tomorrow for our community, we have to invest in our children," says Brian Pecheles, president of Pecheles Automotive. "It has been a joy to see the organization grow in recent years. We are excited to see what the future holds as they continue to serve our local children."
