KINSTON, N.C. (WITN)- Police here in the east say the law caught up with an attempted murder suspect in Boston.
Kinston Police say that Allen Lewis was arrested Tuesday during a vehicle stop by the Boston Police Department and the US Marshal Task Force in Boston.
Warrants were issued for Lewis for attempted 1st degree murder, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, discharging a firearm on educational property, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
It was back on May 8th in Kinston that police say officers responded to 807 Chestnut Street for a shooting. There they found Rico Garner inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds to his lower body. An investigation found the shooting had happened at Southeast Elementary School during after hours and near the basketball courts.
Garner was taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville where he recovered from his injuries.
Lewis is being held without bond and is awaiting extradition.
