KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) - Dozens of people toured the Kinston Police Department during an open house Saturday.
Kinston Police invited anyone interested in a career in law enforcement to their headquarters on King Street to teach people about the officers behind the badge.
People had the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the benefits of serving the community.
"It's a noble profession," Kinston Police Chief Alonzo Jaynes said. "It's very challenging, rewarding, exciting and you really make a difference in the community you serve."
The department is currently accepting applications. No previous completed law enforcement training is required to apply or visit.
Anyone interested in a career in law enforcement is invited to an event in Lenoir County Saturday.
The Kinston Police Department is holding an open house Saturday at their headquarters on King Street.
Organizers say this is an opportunity to see what they do in the community and to learn more about the department.
Those attending will be able to see the facility and equipment in addition to meeting the officers behind the badge and ask questions.
