Onslow County building destroyed in fire

ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Officials say a hunting club building in Onslow County is a total loss after a fire Saturday night.

Onslow County Fire Marshal, Brian Kelly, says fire crews responded to 546 Haws Run Road around 8:50 p.m. to find the building engulfed in flames.

Haws Run Fire Department, Southwest Volunteer Fire Department, Nine Mile Fire Department and Verona Volunteer Department were on scene for nearly two hours.

Kelly says many people reported hearing extremely loud noises and that's because some gas cylinders, similar to what you would find on a grill, exploded.

There are no known injuries and Kelly says the cause will most likely remain undetermined because of the extent of damage.
