BAILEY, N.C. (WITN) - State troopers are investigating a wrong-way crash that killed one person Sunday.

The crash occurred around 1 a.m. on U.S. Highway 264 near Bailey.

According to Highway Patrol, 47-year-old Randolph Lee was driving a 2004 Mazda eastbound in the westbound lanes when he hit a 2017 Lexus head on.

Authorities say Lee died at the scene.

The other driver, 36-year-old Abrahim Salama from Raleigh, was transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

The crash remains under investigation, but officials say they do not think alcohol played a role in the accident.
