NEW BERN (WITN) - An Eastern North Carolina city is celebrating the completion of a project intended to help keep pedestrians and cyclists safe.
A 10-foot-wide multi-use path has been installed along Glenburnie Road in New Bern. New sidewalks have also been installed along Neuse Boulevard there. The new additions are expected to offer better access and improved safety for cyclists and pedestrians. They also have numerous connections to surrounding communities and businesses.
The projects, which cost a total of 1-million-dollars, were funded through grants from the N.C. Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration.
