More than 140 National Guardsmen and women will be back in Eastern North Carolina today after spending almost the past two months in Puerto Rico.
The 105th Engineer Battalion, also known as Task Force Rhino, is expected to arrive at 3 p.m. today at its headquarters in Raeford. The group has spent the past 40 days in the island nation aiding its recovery from the effects of Hurricane Maria.
Along with the guardsmen and women from Raeford, Task Force Rhino also included National Guard soldiers from South Carolina, Louisiana and New York. The organization worked mostly in the southern region of Puerto Rico, clearing and repairing roads.
