CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - There are eight days remaining to enroll in health coverage through the Affordable Care Act.
Several local organizations are coming together in Morehead City Thursday to make sure people have help enrolling before the deadline on December 15.
Get Covered Carteret and the Legal Aid of North Carolina are holding two enrollment events this week. The first is Thursday night from 4 p.m.- 8 p.m. at Carteret Community College. The second event will be held Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Bridge Downeast on Harker's Island.
At the event, residents can learn about their options and meet with certified ACA Navigators to get enrolled in affordable health coverage plans.
Organizers say most enrollments can be completed in about an hour.
Those looking to enroll must bring their Social Security Numbers or immigration documentation, income information for every member of your tax household who is working or has income, policy numbers for current health insurance plans covering everyone in your household, and Marketplace account information if you already have an account.

Walk-ins appointments are also welcomed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Open enrollment is underway for people who need health coverage and several local groups are joining forces to help citizen's through the process.
Representatives from Get Covered Carteret and Legal Aid of North Carolina are joining forces to help citizens sign up for health care coverage for the 2018 year.
The open enrollment period for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act began on November 1 and runs through December 15.
During that time, the groups will be hosting three, in-person assistance events.
The first event runs from 4 p.m.- 8 p.m. Thursday, November 9 at Carteret Community College.
If you can't make it to that, another event will be held on Thursday, December 7 at Carteret Community College from 4 p.m.- 8 p.m. The last event takes place at the Bridge Downeast on Harkers Island on Saturday, December 9 from 12 p.m.-4 p.m.
Uninsured citizens who live in Carteret County can learn how to enter the Health Insurance Marketplace and select plans that best fit their needs and budgets.
Those who currently have coverage can also update their application or find a new option that best fits their needs.
Organizers ask that residents come prepared with their Social Security number or document numbers for immigrants, income information (including employer name, address and phone) for every member of your tax household who is working or has income, policy numbers for your current health insurance plans and your Marketplace username and password if you already have an account.
All three events are free of charge.
