KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) - One Eastern North Carolina law enforcement agency is hosting a free event Tuesday to help keep children safe in the car.
The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office is hosting a free child safety seat inspection today from 10 a.m. until noon at the Kinston-Lenoir County Farmer's Market at 100 S. Herritage Street. Certified child safety seat technicians will be onsite to make sure your child's car seat is properly installed.
Reports on car seats show that four out of five seats statewide are installed incorrectly. North Carolina law requires children to use a car seat until they are 8-years-old or weigh at least 80 pounds.
