Down East Wood Ducks 'hatch' new logo this afternoon

KINSTON, NC (WITN) - Kinston's new baseball team, the Down East Wood Ducks, "hatched" their new logo, crest and lettering this afternoon.

The big reveal took place at Grainger Stadium.

Wood Ducks manager Howard Johnson, members of the parent club Texas Rangers, and attendees from the Rangers Caravan including manager Jeff Banister, Rangers Assistant Director of Player Development Paul Kruger, pitchers Tony Barnette and Nick Martinez, Hickory manager Spike Owen, and radio broadcaster Matt Hicks, attended the event.

On Monday the team announced that they will open up play in their inaugural season with an exhibition game versus the University of Mount Olive on April 3rd at 7pm.

All tickets for the game will be $5 and available the day of the game at the box office.
