Kids enjoy music with 'grandfriends' at Greenville Senior Center

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - One local business is using music to bridge the gap between different generations in our community.

A chorus of voices rang through the halls of the Greenville Senior Center Wednesday morning.

Love Joy Music hosts a variety of music together classes but this one is special because a group of 'grandfriends' joined in on the fun.

This generation's class is hosted every once in a while to create a connection between the children and the seniors in the community.

The 'grandfriends' who participated Wednesday say this reminds them of when their own children were young.

"It's a beautiful thing, it's a blessing, it's a blessing," says Ida Beckford, one of the participants.

"So we think it is very important for our children to be exposed and interact and communicate with people of different generations," explains Stephen Brand with Love Joy Music.

Organizers say these types of programs are important to have because they help bring smiles and laughter to all, which you can never have enough of.
