Jacksonville restaurant plans to rebuild after morning fire

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - A Jacksonville landmark that's been around for decades is closed after an early morning fire.

Helen's Kitchen on U.S. 17 North suffered moderate damage to the inside, according to owner Billy Grissett.

Grissett says the electrical fire began in one of the walls. City firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire which didn't damage the building's structure.

The restaurant has been a family business for the past 38 years. Grissett says they have insurance and plan to rebuild.
