Jacksonville police host Coffee with a Cop

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - If you're looking to warm up with a nice cup of coffee this morning, some police officers in the east are hoping you'll join them for a cup of joe.

The Jacksonville Police Department is hosting Coffee with a Cop Tuesday morning to provide residents with an opportunity to meet and chat with officers working in their area about community issues.

"We hope that community members will feel comfortable to ask questions, bring concerns or simply get to know our officers, said Chief Mike Yaniero, Director of Public Safety. "These interactions are the foundation of community partnerships."

Officers will be at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore Cafe on Western Boulevard from 9 am-11 am.
