Jacksonville Winterfest planned for Dec. 1-3

JACKSONVILLE, NC (WITN) - Jacksonville's 4th annual Winterfest is scheduled for the first weekend of December.

Free family-friendly activities and events will take over Riverwalk Crossing Park from Dec. 1-3.

Jacksonville Winterfest is a winter wonderland featuring snow, ice skating, sledding, reindeer games, entertainment, a petting zoo, an old fashioned candy shop and Santa! Santa will make his grand entrance at Jacksonville Commons Friday at 5:30PM and again at Winterfest on Saturday. Other activities will include Pet Photos with Santa and a Gingerbread Workshop. Folks will gather by the waterfront at Riverwalk Park for the tree lighting and Christmas flotilla after dark.

Admission, parking and activities are free.

There will also be a local Artisan Market set up at 100 Recreation Lane with a free shuttle provided to get people between that site and the park.
