JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - A high school in Jacksonville was placed on lockdown after a report of a possible gun on campus this morning.
Jacksonville High School was put on lockdown shortly around 9:10 a.m. It has since been lifted as there is no longer a threat, according to a school system spokeswoman.
A student tells WITN News that she was in the library when about six police officers came in and took another student into custody, telling him he was under arrest.
Clarence Lamb, Jr., 17, has been charged with having a weapon on educational property, and resist, obstruct, delay a public officer. Warrants say the weapon was a silver handgun.
Lamb was given a $2,500 bond on the charges.
