GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - An international service organization is welcoming an Eastern Carolina group into its ranks.
The Junior League of Greenville is now the newest member of the Association of Junior Leagues International.
The association is 116 years old and has members in four countries.
The Greenville league's 115 members have contributed over 7,000 volunteer hours and raised over $160,000 for local organizations.
The league's current focus is on fighting hunger and teaching kids healthy eating habits.
Members say joining the international association will help them contribute even more to the community.
"Offers a lot of opportunities for our membership for training purposes and leadership, and learning how we can train our members to be better volunteers in our community," says Betsy Criscitiello, the president of the Junior League of Greenville.
They also officially joined the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce as well on Wednesday.
