EASTERN CAROLINA (WITN) - Tuesday marks the second day of school for most public school districts across the state and school nurses want to remind parents to utilize them as a resource.
This week will be full of paperwork, forms and administrative things to get your child set-up for success.
Annie Lee and Gloria Rose are two school nurses in Pitt County with a combined 39 years of experience. They suggest that a healthy school year start at home and recommend that parents get kids in bed 5-10 minutes earlier, establish good hygiene habits, get regular exercise and limit screen time.
Students with allergies or chronic conditions like asthma or diabetes will want to have emergency plans in place at school.
Parents can reach out to their child's school nurse by calling the school they attend.
