UPDATE: Greenville police charge man with breaking into home & sexually assaulting woman

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN)- Police have charged a man after they say he broke into a home and sexually assaulted a woman inside.

A warrant shows that Marty Worthington, 21, of Greenville, is charged by Greenville police with first degree burglary and 2nd degree forcible sex offense.

A Greenville Police spokeswoman says that Worthington stays at the home in the area of McKinley Avenue, which has multiple tenants, and entered the room of the victim without her permission.

The warrant says the crime took place between 12 a.m. and 2:45 a.m. Saturday.

Police say the victim and McKinley know each other and that this was not a random attack.

Worthington is being held on a $400,000 bond in the Pitt County Detention Center.
