Girl Scouts head to ECU for recreation and wellness event

GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) - Many East Carolina University students have cleared out of campus for the summer, but some younger students scouting for some fun will be swarming one part of campus Friday night.

The first ever Rocking the Rec Girl Scouts lock-in will be Friday at the ECU Student Recreation Center.

More than 150 Girl Scouts from Pitt, Beaufort and Martin Counties, ages 5 to 18, will join the Campus Recreation and Wellness staff for an exciting night of rock climbing, swimming, zumba, environmental upcycling, Blender Bike smoothies and stress-free time in the Wellness Center.

The North Carolina National Guard is sponsoring the event.

The lock-in starts at 6 p.m. Friday and ends Saturday at 8 am.
