Four sentenced to prison in drug investigations

CARTERET COUNTY (WITN) - Several drug offenders in Carteret County have been sentenced in court.

Daniel Nyberg, of New Bern, was sentenced to nearly ten years in prison and a fine of $50,000. Officials say the 30-year-old was sentenced for his role in a break-in and theft at a K-Mart in Morehead City. Thousands of pills, mostly opiates, were stolen back in June from the business according to police.

James McBroom III, of Newport, plead two guilty to two counts of selling heroin and methamphetamines and two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver heroin and methamphetamines. McBroom was sentenced to serve between three and five and a half years in prison.

Finally, Cameron Dingman and Charles Tharp, of Newport, were both sentenced to years of jail time after deputies followed a search warrant for a suspected meth lab.
