RALEIGH, NC (WITN) - The number of people dying from the flu in North Carolina continues to rise.

The state Department of Health and Human Services says four people died last week from the flu. The previous week there were seven reported deaths.
Half of the 26 people who have died so far this season were 65 years of age and older, while two of the deaths were children between 5 and 17.
Last flu season there were 219 flu deaths in the state.
